Players must register with the association they are playing for this season.
Athletes who have accepted a roster spot on the Whitby Ringette Association’s U16A or U19A team will register for those teams. For out of Association players, we will work with your home association to complete the temporary transfer.
Whitby Home Association Players who have accepted a roster spot on an out-of-association A or AA team will register with that association and complete the Player Release Form. Forward the form to president@whitbyringette.com.
FUN, U12 and Regional (B) Players should register for their Whitby Ringette 2026/27 Division based on their date of birth as outlined below. Any movement between divisions will be discussed in September and will be informed by registration numbers and team formation as Ringette Ontario provides guidelines on under- and over-age players.
Registration for all divisions FUN3 (U10) and up will close on August 1st, 2026 so that Associations can assess numbers and plan for team formation. After August 1st, registrants will be waitlisted until it is determined that there is space available on a team.
Team formation is subject to registration numbers and WRA reserves the right to change the offering of Regional Teams for 2026/2027 based on viability. Teams hosted will be confirmed by mid-August 2026.
FUN, U12 and Regional (B) teams for U14-U16 will be formed in early September with Sort Skates scheduled as required. It is our intention to work with other Ringette Associations in our area to ensure that all players have a place to play.

New this year is a mandatory volunteer program for each Whitby Ringette player.
This program has two goals:
A $150 surcharge will be added to each player’s registration for the 2026-2027 season. After each player completes a mandatory three (3) hours of volunteering at approved activities, mentoring opportunities and events, they will receive a refund of $150. If the hours are completed before the fee deadline of September 30, they will receive a code for a $150 credit on their account. Later refunds will be calculated and disbursed at the end of each month.
For each volunteer opportunity, a sign-up link will be provided. Once the event is full, the link will close. Anticipated volunteer opportunities include Come Try Ringette, Community Events (e.g. Brooklin Spring Fair, Whitby FC MiniFest, etc.) and Mentorship Opportunities within the Association. Please sign up for events and opportunities with a firm intention to attend so we can ensure we have the required volunteers. Review the policy and FAQ here.

Respect in Sport for Parents is now mandatory. This brings ringette in line with most other sports associations. You will be prompted to enter the certification number when registering. The Respect in Sport program is a one-time session that is transferrable between sports. If you have ever completed the certification for hockey, soccer, volleyball etc. for any of your children, you can look up the certificate number and use it for ringette registration. You will be required to enter this information before your player participates in ringette in Whitby.
To look up your certificate number or register to complete: https://ringette-canada-parent.respectgroupinc.com/koala_final/
There is a $12 fee to complete a new certification.
FUN 1/2/3: Groups will be formed based on an evaluation skate to be held in mid September. The program is designed to be fluid and allow players to move between groups as their development suits. While the FUN 1/2/3 programs are primarily designed for players born from 2019 to 2022, older players who are new to skating or the sport of ringette may be placed here for development.
FUN 3 League Play: Players interested in playing league games will be evaluated to determine that they have achieved the skills required to participate in FUN 3, as outlined in https://ringetteontario.com/childrens-ringette/.
Moving participants between FUN2 and FUN3: A participant should be able to demonstrate that they have acquired the majority of the skills included in the FUN2 assessment. Participants should have a ‘Yes’ for every skill in the Success Criteria column and a ‘Yes’ for at least 6 out of the 8 skills in the Technical Criteria column. If a participant gets this score or higher, then they may be ready to move on to FUN3. Again, be sure to consider all aspects of the participant’s readiness beyond technical skills when discussing whether to move up.
